Tourist visa / Short stay up to 90 days
Please note that Israeli citizens do not need a tourist visa for short stays up to 90 days. (not involving employment). If you hold another citizenship, please check the link with List of visa-free countries. Since March 2001 tourist visas are issued as Schengen-visas. As of December 2008 additional new Members of the Schengen Agreement joined. There are now 25 countries in the Schengen area: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. The following countries do not belong to the Schengen area: Bulgaria, Cyprus, Great Britain, Ireland, Romania, Russia, Switzerland and Turkey.
When should I apply at the Norwegian Embassy in Tel Aviv,
the Representative Office of Norway in Al Ram, or
visa application officer Ms. Majda Shorafa at the UNDP Office in Gaza.
If Norway is the main or only destination of your visit you may apply to the Norwegian Embassy in Tel Aviv - tel: 03 7441490, to the Norwegian Representative Office in Al Ram - tel: 02 2345050, or the Embassy's contact in Gaza: visa application officer Ms. Majda Shorafa, tel: 08 2824611. If you do not have a main destination and you apply to the Norwegian Embassy, then Norway must be the first country of entry.

What should I submit?
Please submit the following documentation:
- A signed passport or travel document, valid for at least three months after the expiry date of the visa applied for. The re-entry visa for Israel, if required, must also be valid for at least three months after the return.
- An official visa application form with two photos.
The Photo shall:
- be in sharp focus, clear and with good contrasts
- be printed on quality photopaper with high solution
- be in colours with a white background
- be 35 - 40 mm in width
- maximum 6 months old, resemble the applicant
- full-face, facing the camera directly, eyes looking straight at the camera
- show the whole head and the top of the shoulders
- the face shall occupy 70 - 80% of the picture
- show open eyes that are clearly visible. Hair shall not cover the eyes
Regarding glasses:
Glasses are allowed as long as the eyes are clearly visible
- the glasses cannot be coloured
- the rim must not cover any part of the eyes
- there can not be reflection in the glasses
Regarding head-dress:
Religious head-dresses are allowed provided that all details of the face are clearly shown
- chin, forehead and both cheeks shall all be clearly visible
- shadows in the face due to the head-dress are not allowed
- Flight itinerary and Documentation that proves the purpose of your trip.
a) Private/official/tourist visit:
- A letter of invitation from your family or friends guaranteeing your stay in Norway together with a written commitment that they support you financially during your stay and a signed Guarantee Form from the police in Norway.
- An official letter of invitation from the organization in Norway together with a written commitment that they cover all the financial cost endured by you for the specific period.
- Proof of income for the past three months.
- Your employer’s confirmation of your employment or employment contract.
b) Business trip:

An original letter of invitation from your Norwegian business partner (not by fax) with its official letterhead, duly signed by the company, explaining the purpose of the visit. It must also contain their commitment to pay for any cost (i.e. medical treatment) that may arise during your visit.

Extract of the trade register and a copy of the supplement of the trade register, containing the official signature specimens of the authorised persons of the company.

Certificate of your own business by your Chamber of Commerce or letter from your company stating your position in the company and the purpose of your journey. (or see point d)
c) Trip to seminars, conventions, exhibitions, etc.:

An original letter of invitation from the Norwegian organisation (not by fax), with its official letterhead duly signed by the head explaining the purpose of the visit, together with a written commitment that they support you financially during your stay or a signed Guarantee Form from the police in Norway.

An extract of the Union registers (including the signature specimen of the authorised persons of the union).

Certificate of your own business by your Chamber of Commerce or letter from your company stating your position in the company and the purpose of your journey. (or see point d)
d) Alternative to point a) b) c):

Hotel reservation for the entire stay.

Proof of income and/or sufficient fund to cover the costs of your intended stay.

Your employer’s confirmation of your employment or employment contract or your school’s/university’s confirmation of your registration.

Once your visa is approved: a confirmed return ticket, receipt of advance paid hotel reservation for the entire stay and sufficient travel and health insurance with a minimum of Euro 30.000 coverage of medical expenses have to be presented upon issuing of the visa.
