Norwegian piano duo, Duo Arctica, performed in Israel

29/12/2009 // The Norwegian piano duo, Duo Arctica, performed in Israel between the 18th and 21st of December. Duo Arctica consists of the two Norwegian pianists Joachim Carr and Mathias Susaas Halvorsen. The duo played at the Rachmaninov in Two festival, and gave performances in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Netanya and Beer Sheva.

Duo Arctica is a young and promising pianist duo from Norway, and has already gained considerable national and international experience.

In 2008 Duo Arctica was awarded third prize in the annual international piano competition "Concours Grieg" in Oslo, where they also won a special price for their performance of "Armenian Rhapsody", written by A. Babajanian/A.Aratunian. The duo currently live and practice in Oslo, while they complete the last year of education at the "Barratt Due" Institute of Music.

As a part of the "Rachmaninov in Two" festival held in Israel before christmas, the duo gave performances in both Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Netanya and Beer Sheva.
