Renewable Energy- Norway’s next great adventure

When Åslaug Haga served as Norway’s oil and energy minister during 2007-2008, she felt there wasn’t enough focus on renewable energy in the country. But the Norwegian oil industry was booming and the EU hadn’t yet established the 2020 environmental goals. Now she is the leader for a newly created renewable energy project for the Federation of Norwegian Industries that will prepare the oil nation for this next great industrial adventure.

Testing the world’s first floating tidal power plant

The world’s first floating tidal power demonstration plant was last weekend deployed at sea near Harstad, Northern Norway, and is ready for testing . Production of electricity starts in October.

The Norwegian Ambassador to Israel, Mr. Jakken Biørn Lian, attended the celebrations of the ten years joint venture between the Norwegian firm Elopak and Elopak Israel. Elopak, a Norwegian based firm established in 1957, delivers high quality carton and plastic based packaging systems to over 40 countries world wide. In his speech, published below, the Ambassador praised cooperation between business partners in the two countries of Israel and Norway.

Announcement on certificates for fish and fishery products

On 5 June, the Norwegian Food Safety Authority implemented a modernised system for issuing export documents such as certificates for fish and fishery products for exports. The new certificates may differ from the look of the certificates in use until that date. The changes are related to the design of the certificates only.
