"Jordan", Norwegian tooth products, launched in Israel

07/12/2007 // Dental hygiene products (e.g. toothbrushes, dental sticks and dental floss) produced by the Norwegian company Jordan are now distributed in the Israeli market. The products are available in pharmacies and grocery stores in Israel.


Dentalon, the Israeli distributor of Jordan, officially launched Jordan in Israel at a press conference at the restaurant Catit in Tel Aviv 4 December. Jordan has a strong brand name and controls more than 50% of the market for dental hygiene products in the Nordic countries. This market is known for having consumers who demand high-quality dental hygiene products. Jordan's products are sold in more than 60 countries. It has four daughter companies; in Sweden, Scotland, England and Malaysia. 
 
Jordan is still owned by descendants of its founder, the Danish comb maker Wilhelm Jordan. In 1837 Mr. Jordan immigrated to Norway and established a prosperous comb business in Oslo. Jordan started to produce toothbrushes in 1927. In 1960 it started exporting its products. It has been awarded several prizes for design.
