Announcement on certificates for fish and fishery products

25/06/2007 // On 5 June, the Norwegian Food Safety Authority implemented a modernised system for issuing export documents such as certificates for fish and fishery products for exports. The new certificates may differ from the look of the certificates in use until that date. The changes are related to the design of the certificates only.

The modernisation includes the use of special paper for sanitary- and veterinary certificates. The new paper contains different security measures, e.g. watermarks and hologram, in order to prevent the possibility of fraud. In addition, three different colour categories have been implemented:

 

-         Red paper: Sanitary- and veterinary certificates for fresh fish and fishery products of others (not for frozen products)

-         Blue paper: Sanitary- and veterinary certificates for frozen fish and fishery products

-         Gray paper: Statements regarding results from different surveillance programmes and other information regarding food safety issues.
