Norwegian Nobel Prize Laureate celebrated at Begin Heritage Center, Jerusalem, 15 April 2008.

22/04/2008 // The Norwegian writer Sigrid Undset, who won the Nobel Prize in  Literature in 1928, was celebrated at the Begin  Heritage Center in  Jerusalem  on  15 April 2008. The Norwegian Minister of Culture, Mr Trond Giske ,  delivered a welcoming  speech .    

 The Embassy brought the Norwegian writer and journalist Sigrun Slapgard, who last year published a critically acclaimed biography about Sigrid Undset, to Jerusalem for the occasion. The first book in the trilogy “Kristin Lavransdatter” was published by Shocken in January this year. The two last novels in the trilogy are also being translated into Hebrew. The event was co-organized by Shocken and the Embassy.
