Hot Club de Norvege visits Israel in May for the Hot Jazz series

“Hot Club de Norvege”, a renowned Norwegian jazz band, will give five concerts in Israel in May. The band was established as part of the gypsy swing revival in Europe in the 70s.

16/04/2008 ::  Hot Club de Norvege will play at the Camelot Club in Herzlia 13 May, at the Jerusalem Jerard Bechar 14 May, at the Tel Aviv Museum 15 and 16 May and in Haifa 17 May. The concerts are part of the "Hot Jazz series 2007-2008".

Hot Club de Norvege consists of Jon Larsen (guitar), Finn Hauge (violin and harmonica), Per Frydenlund (guitar) and Svein Aarbostad (bass). The starting point for Hot Club de Norvege was recordings of Django Reinhardt and the Quintette du Hot Club de France, mixed with gypsy folklore, waltzes and modern jazz. They have now developed their own sound, and continue the search for a contemporary expression of gypsy jazz. They are touring worldwide, and have performed with major stars of the gypsy swing. They have released 18 CDs and their record company, Hot Club Records, have produced CDs with several hundreds of the foremost musicians in the history of gypsy swing.
