Tourist visa / Short stay up to 90 days

Please note that Israeli citizens do not need a tourist visa for short stays up to 90 days. (not involving employment). If you hold another citizenship, please check the link with List of visa-free countries. Since March 2001 tourist visas are issued as Schengen-visas. As of 21 December 2007 additional new Members of the Schengen Agreement joined. There are now 24 countries in the Schengen area: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden. The following countries do not belong to the Schengen area: Bulgaria, Cyprus, Great Britain, Ireland, Romania, Russia, Switzerland and Turkey. + More

Work permits

Work permits are generally only granted to cover an acute shortage of specifically qualified personnel needed in the Norwegian labour market. It is a condition that the applicant is a skilled worker or has special qualifications, and that this competence is deemed necessary for the specific job. The applicant must document his formal education and relevant work experience. A written official Offer of Employment must be attached to the application form. + More
